ably hasn't changed a whole lot since John Dillinger stayed here in the 1930s, but it has a

) The only US location of an upscale Mexican hotel chain, the historic Camino Real
- which has been in operation for over 100 years - has a prime location steps from the
convention center and downtown museums; a gorgeous bar with an art glass dome; large,
comfortable rooms; and pretty friendly service, even when it's swamped.
LOS MURALES
They're not always mentioned in guidebooks - maybe because they're primarily in the poorest areas of town -
but Los Murales, the murals of El Paso, are perhaps the city's preeminent cultural treasure. Of the more than 100
murals in the city, the greatest concentrations are south of downtown between Paisano Dr and the Border Hwy
and north of Paisano Dr near Douglass Elementary School. There are also more than 40 murals painted on the
freeway columns around Durazno St between Copia and Raynolds Sts. Stop by the convention center and visitors
bureau for a map.

between a freeway and train tracks, but it still manages to be surprisingly quiet and calm
inside. The rooms are cheerful and up to date, and breakfast is included.
