ovated motor court is a fun little bargain. The 14 regular rooms are cheery and comfort-
able, and the six camp rooms are perfect for the budget traveler. Located in the former
garages, they have concrete floors, stone walls, a roof, electricity, a sink and even wi-fi.
The only catch? One end of the room has a screen and privacy curtain instead of a wall. If

hand-carved cedar furniture and ceilings of pine viga and latilla that give it the look of a
Southwestern pueblo - that is, one with swimming pool, gift shop and restaurant. The
comfortable and surprisingly spacious guest rooms are a steal, so reserve early.
When the lodge is full, the on-site restaurant often does a breakfast buffet. Don't pass it
up; it's an amazing spread.

Hotel Limpia
( 800-662-5517, 432-426-3237; www.hotellimpia.com ; 101 Memorial Sq; r $95-119; ste $129-149; )
Built in 1912, this historic hotel leans heavily on antiques and floral prints, in a Victorian-
meets-Old West kind of way, like the womenfolk came along and gussied up the place.
There are few finer places to kick back than on the rocking chairs on the back porch.
