Sleeping & Eating
There's no good reason to spend the night in Eagle Pass, however should Del Rio or
Laredo seem too far you'll find a half-dozen chains at either end of town along US 277.
Not surprisingly, the best food here is Mexican.
Best Western Eagle Pass
( 830-758-1234; www.bestwestern.com ; 1923 Veterans Blvd; r $85-110; ) This older motel has a
pleasant outdoor pool area surrounded by palm trees. The 40 rooms are in two-story wings
with outside corridors so you can park outside your door. The property has been much im-
proved of late and guests receive a full breakfast.

have discovered a new upscale Mexican chain when they walk into this well-polished res-
taurant that evokes a sidewalk cafe. Salsas are varied and are good over the various marin-
ated steaks. It's two blocks southwest of where E Garrison St meets E Main St.
