( 956-761-6500; 209 W Amberjack St; mains $12-30; 11am-11pm) Lagoonside Amberjack's has a
popular bar that's more classy than a lot of its neighbors - drinks even come in vessels
made of real glass. The long menu concentrates on fresh seafood and steaks. Romantic
platters for two are best enjoyed on the huge covered patio. It gets rollicking on weekends.

( 956-761-4218; www.coconutsspi.com ; 2301 Laguna Blvd; 11am-late) The clichés start with the
thatched roof over the deck, but that doesn't stop the mixed crowd of tourists and locals
from cutting loose from before the sun sets until well after midnight. Live music rocks the
house.

CLUB
GOOGLE MAP
( 956-761-6406; www.lbyspi.com ; 2305 Laguna Blvd; 5pm-2am) Spring break central, Louie's
serves a mere 3000 to 4000 every night. There are multiple stages, big name rappers, a
dance floor overlooking the water, cheap booze and snacks, and a minimalist dress code
that allows for just about anything.
Boomerang Billy's Beach Bar & Grill
MAP GOOGLE MAP
( 956-761-2420; www.boomerangbillysbeachbar.com ; 2612 Gulf Blvd; 11am-late) Billy's is behind the
shambolic Surf Motel and is one of the few bars right on the sand on the gulf side. Mellow
sounds a bit too energetic for this ultimate crash pad. On weekend afternoons, listen to the
talented singing of Leslie Blasing, who belts her tunes out over the sand.
