Brick House Inn
( 936-564-7428; www.thebrickhouseinn.biz ; 522 Virginia Ave; r incl breakfast $115-130; ) Three
comfy rooms in one of the oldest (brick, obviously) houses in town. Hope that orange
pecan French toast is for breakfast.
Hotel Fredonia
( 936-564-1234; www.hotelfredonia.com ; 200 N Fredonia St; r $100-150; ) Gurgling fountains
and crooning Frank Sinatra muzak lend an air of 1950s glamour to this hotel. Too bad the
slightly dated rooms haven't all caught up with the fab lobby renovation. Ask for a cabana
room out by the lushly landscaped saltwater pool.
