Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport ( Click here ) Taxis to central Dallas (25 minutes) cost $40 to $60, shared-use
shuttles $17; the Trinity Express train from downtown, and shuttle to the terminal, costs $2.50, but doesn't run week-
ends.
Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport ( Click here ) Taxis cost about $50 to downtown Houston (30
minutes), shared-ride van shuttles $25; the Metropolitan Transit Authority runs a limited bus service ($1.25) to down-
town, but it takes an hour.
San Antonio International Airport ( Click here ) A taxi ride to downtown (15 minutes) costs $25 to $30, a shared-ride
shuttle is a few bucks cheaper. Via runs a regular bus to downtown (35 minutes) for $1.20.
Getting Around
Unless you plan to stay exclusively in central Dallas, downtown in San Antonio or Austin, or along the light rail cor-
ridor in Houston, you will need a car.
Car Easy to rent at any airport, at in-town locations and even in suburbia.
Public transportation Extremely limited outside big cities; not comprehensive even within.
