Sure
this is a multistory, interior-access chain motel on the freeway. But it's a decent one, in a
great location. Nothing is a far drive, and the restaurants of Upper Kirby and those of Rice
Village are just a couple miles away. Rooms are all-suite so you get a kitchenette in each -
bonus.
Houston International Hostel
( 713-523-1009;

;
5302 Crawford St; dm/d/q $16/50/110; )
A mix of
semipermanent residents and backpackers. A friendly, eccentric staff and worn '70s fur-
nishings lend the place a throwback hippie feel. It's an easy walk to Houston's major mu-
seums and light rail.
