Damian's Cajun Soul Cafe
( 817-649-7770; 185 S Watson Rd at TX 360 & E Abram St; mains from $10; 11am-4pm) It's not much to
look at from the outside, but at Damian's it's what's inside that counts. The Cajun fare is
good and spicy. Many drive miles just for the pork chops and macaroni and cheese. It
pays to visit early as popular items sell out.

Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
( 817-273-5222; http://texas.rangers.mlb.com ; 1000 Ballpark Way, at I-30 exits 28 or 30; tickets $11-80) From
April to October the Texas Rangers play at this vintage-ballpark-inspired stadium, which
features replicas of the Fenway Park scoreboard and the right-field home-run porch from
Tiger Stadium. Guided tours ( 817-273-5098; adult/children $12/6; off-season 10am-4pm Tue-Sat, on-
season 9am-4pm Mon-Sat, from 11am Sun) are better off-season: they include a peek into the ball-
players' inner sanctum. With over 49,000 seats, you can usually get tickets to weekday
games on short notice.
BASEBALL
Dallas Cowboys Stadium
( 817-892-4467; http://stadium.dallascowboys.com ; 1 Legends Way, off I-30 exits 28 & 29) The Dallas Cow-
boys gave themselves the nickname 'America's Team' after they had great success (with
cheerleaders and otherwise) in the 1970s. Although the team's fortunes have been modest
of late, they still have swagger, as shown in their enormous, retractable-roof home, which
opened in 2009.
Tours ($15-28; 10am-4:30pm Sat, 11:30am-3:30pm Sun) last 90 minutes and leave from Entry A.
If you want to see the spectacle that is a Dallas Cowboys home game, you'll need to find
tickets on the secondary market as the games are always sold out. There are many other
events in the stadium during the year, including college football bowl games, high school
football championships, truck exhibitions and concerts.
