Getting There & Away
Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport ( Click here ) , is 17 miles east of Fort Worth.
Several Greyhound ( www.greyhound.com ; 1001 Jones St) buses a day make the one-hour trip from
the downtown Fort Worth to Dallas ($9). There's also service to other major Texas cities.
Trains and buses in Fort Worth share the Intermodal Transportation Center (1001 Jones St) , easing
transfers.
The Amtrak ( www.amtrak.com ; 1001 Jones St) Texas Eagle stops in Fort Worth en route to San
Antonio and Chicago. The Heartland Flyer serves Oklahoma City.
Monday to Saturday the Trinity Railway Express (TRE; 817-215-8600;
www.trinityrailwayexpress.org ; 1001 Jones St) connects downtown Fort Worth with downtown Dallas
($5, 1ΒΌ hours).
Getting Around
Fort Worth is fairly compact and easy to drive around: I-30 runs east-west through down-
town, and I-35 W runs to the south.
The Fort Worth Transit Authority (The T; 817 215 8600; www.the-t.com ; single ride/day pass $1.75/3.50)
runs bus 1N to the Stockyards and bus 2 to the Cultural District. Stops include the Inter-
modal Transportation Center. Both of these lines run well into the evening.
A useful and free bus route, deceptively called Molly the Trolley (
817-215-8600;
10am-10pm) , shuttles around downtown.
