1907, this 52-room place clings to its cowboy past with Western-themed art, cowboy-in-
spired rooms and a grand Old West lobby with lots of leather. Hide out in the Bonnie and
Clyde room, actually occupied by Clyde Barrow during his 1932 Fort Worth stay (the
faux bullet holes and boot jacks only add to the mystique).
Ashton Hotel

boutique hotel in a turn-of-the-century building off Sundance Square offers hush-hush el-
egance without an ounce of snootiness. Parking is valet-only.

Put on the feed bag and grab some Texas-style fixins' in Sundance Square and in the
Stockyards. Head to West 7th for new-fangled additions to the dining scene, or just walk
down Magnolia and breathe in the foodie revolution. Many of the museums, such as the
Kimbell, also have excellent cafes. PS: you're in Fort Worth - have a steak.
