( 817-332-8451; www.kimbellart.org ; 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd; 10am-5pm Tue-Thu & Sat, noon-8pm Fri, to
5pm Sun) Some art aficionados say this is the country's best 'small' art museum,
while others say it's one of the unqualified best. Take your time perusing: the stunning ar-
chitecture lets in natural light that allows visitors to see paintings from antiquity to the
20th century the way the artists originally intended.
European masterpieces include works by Caravaggio, El Greco and Ce ́ zanne, as well as
Michelangelo's first painting, The Torment of St Anthony .
And the museum's days of being 'small' are over. The original building, an award-win-
ning stunner designed by Louis I Kahn, was joined by a large new edition in 2013, de-
signed by celebrity architect Renzo Piano.
