In-Depth Information
Bus 39 (800 Pacific Ave; $2.50) travels between downtown's West End Transit Station and Dallas
Love Field daily, but service is limited on weekends.
It's often easiest to take a shared-ride shuttle: SuperShuttle ( 817-329-2000;
www.supershuttle.com ; fare from $17) runs from DFW or Dallas Love Field to downtown and ma-
jor hotels in the region. A taxi between either airport and central Dallas should cost about
$40 to $60.
BUS & LIGHT RAIL
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART; 214-979-1111; www.dart.org ; 2-hr ticket peak/off-peak $2.50/1.75) oper-
ates buses and an extensive light-rail system that connects downtown with outlying areas.
Day passes ($5) are available from the store (1401 Pacific Ave;
7:30am-5:30pm Mon-Fri) at Akard
Station.
Travel from downtown to uptown on the historic and free McKinney Ave Trolley (
214-855-0006; www.mata.org ; 7am-10pm Mon-Thu, to midnight Fri, 10am-midnight Sat, to 10pm Sun) , which
runs from the corner of Ross Ave and St Paul St, near the Dallas Museum of Art, and up
McKinney Ave to Blackburn St. An extension bringing the line into downtown should
open.
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
Daytime highway traffic is bad. Enough said.
