The park has an Olympic-size swimming pool (350 Aquatic Circle, summer only, adult/
child $4/3), an 18-hole golf course ($2), a miniature railroad ($2.50), paddleboats ($3) and
shady picnic facilities. All have different opening hours, so call first.
WATER SPORTS
City Tube Chute

In Price Solms Park, the City Tube Chute is like a water slide for your inner tube that
shoots you around a dam on the Comal River. Parking costs $5 on weekends.

Faust Hotel

travelers' hotel, the Faust retains its old-fashioned charm - while the rooms have been up-
dated, there's still plenty of evidence of the hotel's historic roots. The cheapest rooms are
rather small, but they're a great deal, all things considered.

Prince Solms' Inn

venient downtown location, the popular Prince Solms' Inn is one of the oldest still-operat-
ing inns in Texas. Its floral Victorian and rustic Western-themed rooms offer authentic fur-
nishings, and there is a variety of accommodations for groups of up to six people ($175 to
$195). The romantic cabin out back has a full kitchen.
Naegelin's Bakery

just a great place to pick up German strudels and Czech kolaches, Naegelin's is also the
oldest bakery in Texas, with nearly 150 years under its belt, having opened in 1868.

Faust Brewing Co

night Fri-Sun) Located in the Faust Hotel, this convivial pub complements its microbrews
with bar food with a German twist - perfectly befitting its setting in this oh-so-German
town. It's known for its German nachos: house-made potato chips topped with brats,
sauerkraut and beer cheese sauce.
