Extra style points to this King William gastropub located in
a former gas station with a big old patio. Despite the small number of options, the menu
will please most foodies and you'll be dazzled by the choices available when it comes to
the extensive selection of microbrews and wine. Generally a great place to hang out, day
or night.

The building itself is spectacular: an 1883 home that became a Benedictine
convent in 1939 and has now been painted circus-peanut orange. Inside, soaring ceilings
and big windows lend an airy vibe, and the menu includes a nice selection of salads, sand-
wiches and mains.
In the evening, you can finish your meal with a trip up to second-floor bar.

This lively restaurant is always hopping, with huge windows that let in nat-
ural light and wistful glances from hungry onlookers. The Tex-Mex style food is solid,
and the complimentary basket of chips and salsa that show up at your table are better than
most.

The eclectic tapas dishes are solid, but the atmosphere alone is
worth the trip. Clear Lucite chairs, sparkly pendant lights and jauntily patterned faux taxi-
dermy come together to provide a whimsically modern feel. Even the exterior is lit for ef-
fect, from the twinkle lights dripping from a big, shady tree to the circus-like sign out the
front.
