Aug) Nude, nekkid, clothing optional - call it what you will, but this adults-only spot on
Lake Travis (formerly known as McGregor Park) has been drawing people of the clothes-
less persuasion since the '60s. It's not exactly a nude beach but more of a bit of shoreline
defined by rocky outcroppings that are perfect for sunning your buns.
The good news (or bad, depending on how you look at it) is that the amount of scram-
bling required prevents all but the most dedicated from doing the 'stroll and stare.' Eight-
een and over only, please. The park is extracrowded on Splash Days, a gay and lesbian
event that occurs on the first Sunday of May and September.
From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 1⅓ miles to Co-
manche Trail; turn right and the entrance is 2 miles ahead on the left.

have been towing their boats from around Texas to Lakeway for more than 30 years. They
still come to use the marina and boat on Lake Travis, but a 2005 expansion added dozens
more rooms and upped the luxe factor considerably.
Though Lakeway's gone upscale, it hasn't forgotten the kids. Two new pools, one with
a water slide, bring the total to three. There are kids programs and even a summer camp of
sorts. Of course, you could always bring them along when you rent that pontoon boat or
