Underrated Cities
New Plymouth, Whanganui and Palmerston North are mid-sized cities often overlooked by
travellers. You'll find fantastic restaurants and bars, great coffee, wonderful museums and
friendly folk.
Beaches
South of New Plymouth are black sand beaches and gnarly breaks. Whanganui offers re-
mote beaches, while south of Palmerston North, Horowhenua District has acres of empty
sand.
