( www.greatindia.co.nz ; 141 Manners St; mains $15-32; lunch & dinner; ) This is not your average

its moniker with distinctly flavoured curry and other high-quality specialities. Opt for the

( 04-382 9559; www.ortega.co.nz ; 16 Marjoribanks St; mains $32-39; 5.30-10pm Tue-Sat) Fishing floats,
salty portraits and Egyptian floor tiles set a colourful Mediterranean scene, a good hook
on which to hang a seafood dinner. Fish comes many ways (roasted with Malaysian gravy,
sashimi with lime dressing) while the afters head straight for France courtesy of orange
crêpes and one of Welly's best cheeseboards. Excellent food in a relaxed yet upbeat envir-
