In the third week of February, Napier and Hastings cohost the sensa-
tional Art Deco Weekend. Around 200 events fill the week (dinners, picnics, dances, balls,
bands, Gatsby-esque fancy dress), many of which are free. Bertie, Napier's art-deco am-
bassador, is omnipresent.
