three heated pools, two waterslides, private mineral pools and a sauna. There's also a
climbing wall and gym.
Adventure & Adrenaline
More than 30,000 jumps a year are made over Taupo, which makes it the skydiving capit-
al of the world. It's certainly a terrific spot to do it with the deep blue lake and snow-
capped volcanic peaks of Tongariro National Park providing epic, dizzying views. Just re-
member to keep your eyes open. Taupo Airport is 8km south of town (free pick-ups avail-
able).
