Medlands Beach, Akapoua Bay, Whangapoua, The Green (Whangaparapara) and Awana
Bay. All have basic facilities, including water, cold showers (except for at The Green), toi-
lets and a food-preparation shelter. You need to bring your own gas cooking stove as open
fires are prohibited. Book in advance online.
Aotea Lodge

surrounds these reasonably priced units, perched on the hill just above Tryphena. They
range from a two-bedroom house to an unusual mezzanine unit loaded with bunks, and
