The best place to stock up on maps is a
Tabak
(tobacconist), newsagent or bookshop.
Usually they only have local maps, although bookshops in the major cities offer a wider
selection. Outdoor-activities shops usually sell a limited variety of walking maps. Many
local tourist offices hand out basic maps that may be sufficient for short, easy walks.
A great overview map of Austria is Michelin's 1:400,000 national map No 730
