In-Depth Information
Landeck is an ordinary town with an extraordinary backdrop: framed by an amphitheatre
of forested peaks, presided over by a medieval castle and bordered by the fast-flowing
Inn and Sanna Rivers. The town makes a good-value base for outdoor activities and ex-
ploring the nearby Inntal and Patznauntal valleys.
Sights & Activities
Landeck attracts the odd skier to its 22km of mostly intermediate slopes (a day ski pass
costs €32), but is better known for its hiking trails. The magnificent Adlerweg (Eagle Trail)
stops off in Landeck on its 280km journey through Tyrol. Many footpaths can be ac-
cessed by taking the Venet (adult/child 1 way €13.50/8, return €15.50/9.50) cable car up to Krahberg
(2208m).
If you're staying overnight in summer, pick up the TirolWestCard ( www.tirolwest.at ) for free
access to the major sights, outdoor pools and the bus network. In summer the tourist of-
fice arranges guided walks from herb strolls to mountain hikes (free with the Tir-
olWestCard), and can advise on activities from llama trekking to via ferrate.
