Pfarrkirche
(Parish Church; dawn-dusk) The spire of this pink-and-white parish church dominates the
village centre and is surrounded by a sea of filigree crosses. You can peek inside the
church, but you do so at your own risk - a sign on the door issues a warning that it is not
a museum!

Abenteuer Goldbergbau

is a two-hour tour of a gold mine, 2km east of Zell on the Gerlos road. The entry price
covers a cheese tasting in the show dairy and a visit to the animal enclosure with deer,
emus and llamas.

) There's ice skating, tennis, football, bowling and a fun pool with plenty to amuse the
kids at this riverside sports centre.

Arena Coaster
(adult/child €4.50/2.70; 9.30am-6pm; ) Feel your stomach do backflips with a whizzy, loop-
the-loop ride on Zell's 1.5km rollercoaster bob. Kids love it.
Aktivzentrum Zillertal

specialist takes you paragliding (€55 to €130), rafting on the Ziller (€35), canyoning (€35
to €59), via ferrata climbing (€45 to €80) and - one for the kids - llama trekking (€20) in
summer. Winter activities include snowshoe hikes (€35) and ice climbing (€70).

YODEL-WAY-HEE-HO!
If you've ever felt the urge to burst out into song Julie Andrews-style as you skip through meadows ablaze with
wildflowers, you'll love the Jodel Wanderweg (Yodel Hiking Trail; 06565-82 43; visit www.jodelweg.at )
in Königsleiten, on the Gerlos Alpine Road between Zell am Ziller and Krimml. You can either go it alone and
practise your high notes at huts with giant cowbells, alpine horns and listen-repeat audio clippings, or join one of
the guided sing 'n' stroll hikes with trail founder Christian Eder. The three-hour ambles begin at 10.30am every
Wednesday from late June to mid-September and cost €7.60/3.80 per adult/child. Reserve by 5pm the previous
day by calling ahead.
