Getting There & Away
BUS
The bus station is at the southern end of the Hauptbahnhof; its ticket office is located with-
in the station.
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
The A12 and the parallel Hwy 171 are the main roads heading west and east. The B177,
to the west of Innsbruck, continues north to Germany and Munich. The A13 is a toll road
(€8.50) running south through the Brenner Pass to Italy and crossing the 192m Europab-
rücke, spanning the Sill River. Toll-free Hwy 182 follows the same route, passing under
the bridge.
TRAIN
Fast trains depart daily every two hours for Bregenz (€34.40, 2¾ hours) and Salzburg
(€41.30, two hours). From Innsbruck to the Arlberg, the best views are on the right-hand
side of the train. Two-hourly express trains serve Munich (€40.60, two hours) and Verona
(€37, 3½ hours). Direct services to Kitzbühel also run every two hours (€19.20, 1¾
hours). There are roughly hourly connections to Lienz (€33.80, three to five hours); some
pass through Italy while others take the long way round via Salzburgerland.
Getting Around
TO/FROM THE AIRPORT
The airport is 4km west of the centre and served by bus F. Buses depart every 15 or 20
minutes from Maria-Theresien-Strasse (€2); taxis charge about €10 for the same trip.
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
Most of central Innsbruck has restricted parking, indicated by a blue line. You can park
within these areas for a maximum of 1½ or three hours during set times (approximately
shop hours). Parking garages (such as the one under the Altstadt) will set you back about
