Activities
Water sports such as windsurfing, waterskiing and sailing are popular activities in St Gil-
gen. There's a town swimming pool and a small beach (free) with a grassy area beyond
the yacht marina.
The mountain rising over the resort is 1520m Zwölferhorn ( www.12erhorn.at ; return cable car
adult/child €22/14.50) , from where there are good views and trails (two to 2½ hours) leading
back to St Gilgen. Skiers ascend in winter.
KIDS PLAYGROUND
St Gilgen has one of the lake's best kids playgrounds, situated at the shore near the ferry landing. As well as
swings, there's a nifty flying fox and slides, and things to climb or hang around on. It's partly shaded.
