Attersee-Schifffahrt ( www.atterseeschifffahrt.at ) does mostly alternating boat circuits of the north
(adult/child €10/5, 1¼ hours) and south (€16/8, 2¼ hours) regions of the lake several
times most days from Easter to early October. Full circuits combining both segments can
be done on weekends from Easter to September, and daily in July and August (adult/child
€20/10, 3¾ hours).
The two lakeside towns of Attersee and Schörfling are each connected to the rail net-
work by a line branching from the main Linz-Salzburg route (only regional trains make
stops): for Kammer-Schörfling change at Vöcklabruck, and for Attersee change at Vöck-
lamarkt.
TRANSPORT AROUND THE TRAUNSEE
Train
The Traunsee resorts are strung along the western shore and are connected by rail. Trains run between Gmunden
and Traunkirchen (€2.20, 10 minutes, hourly) and Ebensee (€3.80, 20 minutes, hourly), continuing to Bad Ischl
(€7.80, 40 minutes).
Boat
Traunsee Schiffahrt ( www.traunseeschiffahrt.at ; Rathausplatz, Gmunden) vessels tour the shoreline between
mid-May and early October. There are connections from Gmunden's Rathausplatz to Landhotel Grünberg am
See (adult/child €3/2.50, seven minutes, three daily), Traunkirchen (adult/child €8/6, 45 minutes, four daily) and
Ebensee (adult/child €10/7.50, 70 minutes, four daily). Some boats do round-trips of the lake (adult/child €19/
13, 125 minutes, four daily).
Electric Shuttle Bus
A Bummelzug (adult/child €5/3; every 30min 10am-5.30pm, from 2pm Tue May-Sep) runs to Seeschloss
Ort on the western shore and Panorama Shuttle (adult/child one way €3.50/2;
8.50am-6.40pm early May -
early Oct) runs seven trips daily to the end of the road on the eastern shore.
