Getting There & Around
The Gmunden Hauptbahnhof on the Salzkammergut Attnang-Puchheim to Stainach-Ird-
ning line is the main train station for the town. The Bad Ischl-Gmunden train fare (€7.80,
45 minutes, every 1 to 1½ hours) includes the connecting tram to Gmunden's centre. The
Seebahnhof, near the marina, services the slow, private train line from Vorchdorf-Eggen-
burg.
The main train station is 2km northwest of the town centre: tram G (€1.90) runs to
Franz-Josef-Platz after every train arrival. Bus tickets for city services cost €1.90.

The attractive hamlet of Traunkirchen sits on a spit of land about halfway along the west-
