to the Dachstein cable car from the train station. There's an ATM next door.
Getting There & Away
At least nine daily buses connect Hallstatt (Lahn) town with the cable car at Obertraun-
Dachsteinseilbahn (€2.20, nine to 16 minutes). A ferry runs from Hallstatt Markt via
Hallstatt Lahn to Obertraun (€5.50, 25 minutes, five daily). Obertraun-Dachsteinhöhlen
is the train station for Obertraun settlement. There are trains to Bad Ischl (€5.70, 30
minutes, 12 daily) via Hallstatt (€2.20, three minutes).

Gosausee

This small lake is flanked by the impressively precipitous peaks of the Gosaukamm range
(2459m). The view is good from the shoreline, and it takes a little over an hour to walk
around the entire lake. The
Gosaukammbahn
(return adult/child €13/8.10; mid-May-late Oct)
cable
car goes up to 1475m, where there are spectacular views and walking trails. One- to two-
hourly Postbus services run to the lake from Bad Ischl (€6.10, one hour) via Steeg.
