SOMMERCARD
Bus and cable-car rides can soon eat into a budget in Schladming. From late May to late October a Sommercard
is issued by many places to stay; it gives discounts and all-important free transport on the buses (but not for the
Eispalast or Postbus services) and cable cars. You can't buy it, but when booking your accommodation ask
whether one is issued.
Sleeping
Book ahead during the ski season to be sure of a room. The tourist office can help place
you.
Post Hotel

The four-star Post Hotel has spacious, modern rooms decorated in tasteful tones. Some of
its doubles have connecting doors for families, and its family apartment is in fact a fully
fledged suite with a separate living room. It also has a sauna and issues the Sommercard.
Jugendgästehaus Schladming
( 05 7083-330; www.jufa.at/schladming ; Coburgstrasse 253; s/d €55/80; ) Situated in the pedestrian
zone close to the Planai base station, this excellent hostel has maisonette rooms with up-
stairs and downstairs beds, doubles with beds you can shift together, as well as standard
rooms. It issues the Sommercard.

Hotel Landgraf

fortable abode situated right in the centre of Schladming. As well as offering good-value
standard rooms, it has some spacious apartments suitable for families (it doesn't issue the
Sommercard).
