The region has lots of small, winding roads and forest/mountain-bike trails for two-

Bürgeralpe
This mountain is a great starting or finishing point for hiking in the summer months, and
also has skiing in winter. The

year-round. It has an artificial lake used as a setting for special events. During winter,
adult ski passes cost around €31 (daily) and €162 (weekly).
HIKING, SKIING
Erlaufsee
This small lake a few kilometres to the northwest of town reaches about 22°C in summer
and, apart from swimming, it offers good opportunities for windsurfing and scuba diving;

An easy four-hour
Rundwanderweg
(circuit trail) runs past the lake and south through
forest back into Mariazell; alternatively, you can take the steam
