platz) The Neue Galerie is the most exciting of the three museums inside the Joanneums-
viertel museum complex, which also includes the Naturkundemuseum MAP GOOGLE MAP (Mu-
seum of Natural History; www.museum-joanneum.at ; adult/child €8/3; 10am-5pm Tue-Sun; ) . Level 0
houses the separate Bruseum , with changing exhibitions dedicated to the Vienna Actionist
Günther Brus.
The stunning collection of paintings from the 19th and early 20th centuries on level 0
is the highlight of this museum ensemble. Though not enormous, the collection show-
cases richly textured and colourful works by painters such as Ernst Christian Moser,
Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller and Johann Nepomuk Passini. Egon Schiele is also repres-
ented here.
The upstairs collection on post-1945 art is small and eclectic. Another space on level 1
is also used for temporary exhibitions. Guided tours in English are held at 3.30pm on
Sundays (one hour, €2.50).

joy what's on show at the Landeszeughaus. More than 30,000 pieces of glistening
weaponry and ways to protect yourself against it are housed here, in an exhibition that is
one of Graz's most interesting and the largest of its kind in Austria.
