Getting There & Away

sends boats westwards to Passau (one way/return €26/29, six hours, 2.20pm
Tuesday to Sunday) and east to Vienna (€58, 11½ hours, 9am Saturday).
Regional buses depart from stands at the main bus station adjacent to the Haupt-
bahnhof.
Linz is on the main rail route between Vienna (€34, 1½ hours) and Salzburg (€24, 1¼
hours), and express trains run twice hourly in both directions. Several trains depart daily
for Prague (€47, 5½ hours).
Getting Around

is 13km
southwest of town. A direct shuttle-bus service connects the Hauptbahnhof (€2.70, 20
minutes) with the airport hourly from 6am to 7pm Monday to Saturday. Alternatively,
there are hourly train connections between Linz and Hörsching (9 minutes, €2.20), a
three-minute ride from the airport by free shuttle bus. Use the free phone at the station to
dial 0800 206 600 for a pick-up. The service is very reliable and runs daily from 5am
to 10pm.
BICYCLE
Linz is a major stop on the Danube Trail and has some 200km of bicycle routes. Bikes
