Getting There & Away
Daily buses leave hourly down the eastern side of the lake, passing through Podersdorf
(€3.80, 16 minutes) and Illmitz (€5.70, 30 minutes).
Hourly trains connect Vienna Hauptbahnhof with Neusiedl am See (€11, 45 minutes).
Hourly trains to Eisenstadt (€5.80, 30 minutes) pass through Purbach (€3.70, 15
minutes). For Rust, change to the bus in Schützen.

Podersdorf offers bathing on Neusiedler See, with a long grassy
beach

for swimming, boating and windsurfing. Windsurfing costs an extra
€3.50, even with your own board, and paddle /electric boat hire is €7/12 per day. Wind

Bicycle Touring
If you haven't already picked up a bicycle - the perfect way to see the Seewinkel wet-
lands, which start about 5km south of town - five places around town rent bikes for
between €9 and €15 per day.
