In-Depth Information
Vienna is the main centre in Austria for international flights. Flying domestic routes of-
fers few benefits over trains. Although there are frequent flights to Graz, Klagenfurt,
Salzburg and Linz with Austrian Airlines from Vienna, Innsbruck in Tyrol is the one
place where flying (one hour, five to seven times daily) is considerably faster than the
train. Book early for the cheapest fares.
BOAT
Steamers head west (mostly from Krems, Click here ) and fast hydrofoils head east to
Bratislava and Budapest ( Click here ) .

At press there were three main arrival and departure points: Wien Hauptbahnhof (in
partial service, goes into full service early 2015), Wien-Meidling (Meidling-Philadelphi-

Further stations include Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof (north of the centre; handles trains to/
