In-Depth Information
Cobras
Khao Sok National Park is home to four different species of cobra - monocled cobras,
spitting cobras, king cobras, and Asian cobras. The king cobra is the world's longest
venomous snake, reaching lengths greater than 16 ft (5 m).
Clouded Leopard
Exceptional climbers, with large feet and power-
ful claws, clouded leopards have a beautiful
yellow-brown coat with distinctive cloud mark-
ings. The animal rests and sleeps in trees. Its
prey includes small mammals and birds, among
other creatures.

Hornbill
The hornbill's long down-curved mandible and distinctive yellow/red horn make the
bird easily identifiable. Feeding on fruits, berries, insects, small mammals, and eggs,
hornbills often reside in dense forests. Many species can be spotted in Khao Sok Na-
tional Park.
Tarantula
These massive spiders tend to dwell inside underground burrows. The species found
in Thailand move quickly and are known to be aggressive, so you are advised to give
the tarantula plenty of space if you encounter one in the wild.
