With so many white-sand beaches and resort
pool decks, finding a sunny spot to catch a tan on
Phuket does not require much effort. Remember
to apply sunscreen; the tropical sun burns, even
on cloudy days.

Cruise on the hilly coastal roads of western Phuket, passing scenic viewpoints, ele-
phant trekking trails, and tropical foliage. Motorbikes can be rented in many tourist
areas. Roadside petrol stands sell fuel in old whiskey bottles. Remember to always
wear a helmet.
