Fire Dancing
Popular on Ko Phi Phi's beaches, particularly around Loh Dalum, this rare perform-
ance art features flaming staffs and poi spinning in the darkness of the night to
pulsating music. To watch these glowing rays of light is mesmerizing, and in photo-
graphs, the fire dancers often appear to be playing with halos.
Snake Shows
The audience looks on as a deadly cobra has venom extracted from its razor-sharp
fangs into a clear plastic cup. At one of Phuket's unforgettable snake shows, visitors
also witness a snake handler kissing a cobra between its eyes, while another handler
uses his teeth to pick up a viper. Get your camera ready and don't flinch. You can also
have your picture taken with a massive boa constrictor.

Phuket Zoo Shows
Three exciting animal shows thrill audiences of all ages. In one performance,
macaque monkeys that once worked as coconut pickers ride tricycles and slam-dunk
basketballs. In another show, elephants display their balancing skills, standing on
two feet and then sitting like humans. The last show has a brazen zookeeper placing
his head inside the gaping jaws of an alligator.
