Where to Cycle
It would take too long to list every worthy path and route in this bike-friendly state. Sum-
mer sees many ski resorts wave goodbye to the snow set and say hello to the two-wheel-
ers. To get you oriented:
» Around Grand Junction The mix of flat roads and wineries is a tempting combination; some of the USA's best
singletrack trails are near Fruita.
» Crested Butte Singletrack routes and amazing scenery? Check and check.
» Salida Epic rides year-round. Check out the Rainbow Trail, Monarch Crest Trail and 'S' mountain that bears down on
town.
» Central Mountains This whole region is home to one of the state's best networks of bikepaths. Everything you could
want is here: road, tracks and gravel.
» Denver A bike-lover's city, complete with bike-share program, bike-friendly public transportation and plenty of
paths. In the process of building a bike route to Boulder.
» Boulder Possibly more bike crazed than Denver; paths and bike lanes lead to virtually everywhere in town and bey-
ond.
» Fort Collins A bike museum is spread across the whole town; jumping on a fixie is the way to get around here.
