endangered species list. There are two types of eagle. The more prevalent golden eagle
has a wingspan of 7ft and ranges throughout North America. The bald eagle only relat-
ively recently bounced back from near extinction and remains on the endangered species
list. At its low point only two or three nesting pairs nested in Colorado, but that number
has increased by eight or nine each year, and at last count there were 51 breeding pairs
and a stable population of over 800 eagles in the state.
