Manitou Springs
WINE BAR
Swirl
( www.swirlwineemporium.com ; 717 Manitou Ave; noon-10pm Sun-Thu, to midnight Fri & Sat) Behind a styl-
ish bottle shop in Manitou Springs, this nook bar is intimate and cool. The garden patio
has dangling lights and vines while inside are antique armchairs and a fireplace. If you're
feeling peckish, sample the tapas and homemade pasta.
Garden of the Gods & Old Colorado City
Trinity Brewing Co
BREWERY
( www.trinitybrew.com ; 1466 Garden of the Gods Rd; 11am-midnight Thu-Sat, 11am-10pm Sun-Wed; )
Inspired by Belgium's beer cafes, the ecofriendly Trinity Brewing Co is a cool addition to
the Colorado Springs pub scene. Owned by two self-admitted beer geeks, it serves 'artis-
anal beers' (made from rare ingredients and potent amounts of alcohol) and has a veggie-
friendly menu - though don't expect miracles from the kitchen. Look for the brewery in a
strip mall one block west of Centennial Blvd.
Jives Coffee Lounge
(16 Colbrunn Ct; 7am-11pm Sun-Thu, to midnight Fri & Sat; ) Easily the hippest hand on the Old
Colorado City stretch, this large brick-wall coffee lounge has ample sofas, wi-fi and a
bandstand featuring regular live music (weekends) and a Wednesday open-mike night. It
does coffee and a selection of all-fruit, no-sugar smoothies. Food is limited. It's located
between 24th and 25th Sts.
CAFE
Colorado Springs
Bristol Brewing Co
( www.bristolbrewing.com ; 1604 S Cascade Ave; 11am-10pm; ) Although a bit out of the way in
south Colorado Springs, this brewery - which in 2013 spearheaded a community market
center in the shuttered Ivywild Elementary School - is worth seeking out for its Laughing
