Eating & Drinking
Inari's A Palisade Bistro
( 970-464-4911; www.inarisbistro.com ; 336 Main St; mains $11-25; 5-9pm Tue-Sat, 10am-2pm Sun) Just
taking a whiff of the cheese menu makes it evident that there's no contest for Palisade's
finest dining room. The seasonal menu features a dash of Mediterranean and Asian influ-
ences. The honey-soy-glazed grilled salmon is terrific.
BISTRO $$
Palisade Brewing Company
( 970-464-1462; www.palisadebrewingcompany.com ; 200 Peach Ave; sandwiches $9-11; noon-10pm) The
unadorned warehouse demonstrates a single-minded focus on beer making . On nice days
the patio fills up with families eating brats and paninis while listening to live music (Wed-
nesday and Friday). The popcorn machine is a nice touch; a few salty handfuls pique your
thirst for some Dirty Hippie, a dark American wheat. Kids get homemade rootbeer.
BREWERY
Peach Street Distillers
( 970-464-1128; www.peachstreetdistillers.com ; 144 Kluge Ave; noon-10pm) From the moment you
size up this room - more work-a-day warehouse than an uppity tasting room - it's clear
that Peach Street is dead serious about its booze. Sure, the sign behind the bar reminds
you that this is a tasting room and not a bar, but locals pack in. Bring in dinner from the
food truck parked alongside.
If you're taking a bottle home, go for the boutique and seasonal stuff, such as limited
edition pear-vodka (with a whole pear inside the bottle), or Peach Goat Vodka, infused
with the famous local peaches. If you're just here for a drink, the Bloody Mary is to die
for.
