In-Depth Information
( 970-241-9105; www.castlecreekbandb.com ; 638 Horizon Dr; d incl breakfast $125; ) From the
driveway, Castle Creek looks like little more than an enormous suburban mansion, but the
details are spot on - independent entrances, chocolates on the pillow, a big selection of
movies, popcorn by the microwave, and a hot tub from which to take in the fresh night air.
Adults-only; the spacious grounds allow for a quiet stay.
Grand Junction Bookcliffs Bed & Breakfast
( 970-261-3938; www.grandjunctionbnb.com ; 3153 F Rd; d incl breakfast $115-150; ) North of
town, this family-operated B&B has immaculate country-style rooms. Though on a busy
road, it's an excellent alternative to Grand Junction's mostly bleak hotels. Rooms are
bright and cozy, and there's a backyard and nearby park for the kids to run around.

Pablo's Pizza
( 970-255-8879; www.pablospizza.com ; 319 Main St; mains $6-10; 11am-8:30pm Sun-Thu, to 9pm Fri & Sat;
) These creative pies are easily the best pizza in town and we love the bike-to-dinner in-
centives. With sidewalk seating and a small-town vibe, this place serves steaming thin-
crust pizzas with names like Dracula's Nemesis, The Cowboy, and Naked Truth. Pair with
a microbrew. Lunches feature an $8 buffet.
Dream Café
( 970-424-5353; 314 Main St; breakfast $6.50-12; 6:45am-2:30pm Mon-Sun; ) Hit this bright, sleek
cafe for Grand Junction's best breakfast. Our favorite of the five eggs Benedict dishes is
the California Dreamin' Bene, topped with red peppers, avocado, asparagus and hol-
landaise. Those who prefer something sweet could opt for the pineapple upside-down pan-
cakes.
BREAKFAST $
Nepal Restaurant
( 970-242-2233; 356 Main St; mains $6-12; 11am-2:30pm & 5-9pm Mon-Sat; ) In a town without
much ethnic food, the Nepalese lunch buffet fills a niche. The meat curries are better-than-
average Indian and vegetarian dumplings, dipped in a spicy oil, make for a tasty, easy
snack. There are plenty of vegan dishes as well.
