In-Depth Information
Summer brings fabulous fishing along the Dolores River (which runs through town). An-
glers score big with cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout. You can also hike the 9-mile loop
from the top of Lizard Head Pass to the base of Lizard Head Peak, a crumbling 13,113ft
tower of rock. Aside from that, it's mostly a place to gas up and move on.
