from Kelly Place, this well-regarded small family-run vineyard has informal tastings in
the straw-bale farm kitchen. Owned by happy corporate dropouts, it may have only 13
years of production under its belt but it has lots of good stories to tell.

MUSEUM
( 10am-9pm Mon-Sat summer, to 5pm winter) The Cultural Park is an outdoor space at the
Cortez Cultural Center where Ute, Navajo and Hopi tribe members share their cultures
with visitors through dance and crafts demonstrations. Weaving demonstrations and Ute
mountain art are also displayed and visitors can check out a Navajo hogan.

Jun-mid-Sep; ) This cultural center, about 3 miles north of Cortez, offers a day-long educa-
tional program that visits an excavation site west of town. Programs teach the significance
of regional artifacts and are an excellent way to learn about Ancestral Puebloan culture
first-hand.
Travelers who want to stay longer can partake in week-long sessions, where guests
share traditional Pueblo hogans and also study excavation field and lab techniques.
