5Point Film Festival
(

;
late Apr)
Held annually, Carbondale's film festival has gradually ac-
quired a name for itself as the Sundance of adventure cinema. Sponsored by Patagonia,
films aren't of the testosterone-driven 'look-at-me' variety, but instead explore inspiration
and transformation as experienced in the great outdoors.

66 N 2nd St; r $90-145; )
This welcoming B&B has
four personalized rooms, a nice common area (the upstairs New Orleans Library) and
overall is an excellent mid-valley option. Relatively inexpensive but plenty comfortable,
it's a pleasant alternative to staying in Aspen.

It may not
be Chiang Mai, but you're not going to find any naysayers here. Great food and cool de-
cor - exposed brick walls, curvy counter seating - make this a very hip spot, and it gets
busy every night of the week. Expect Thai classics, Vietnamese and Malaysian specialties,
and a few native Colorado twists for the locavores.

The most recent venture by Mark Fischer,
the man behind the Pullman and Phat Thai, is this bakery/gastro cafe. Whether you're
after fresh bagels and coffee, small plates (crisp pork with watermelon, lamb meatballs),
