Glenwood Springs Hostel
( 970-945-8545; www.hostelcolorado.com ; 1021 Grand Ave; dm $20, r $30; ) This hostel hasn't been
renovated in ages and hence rooms here are cramped and run down. But if you need to
save your nickels and dimes, it's the best deal you'll find in the Aspen area. The common
spaces have some character, but the clientele is much more long-term residents than fel-
low travelers.
Private rooms are also furnished with bunk beds - don't expect a queen-sized bed.
There are lockers beneath the bunks, so bring your own lock.

Sunlight Mountain Inn
( 970-945-5225; www.sunlightinn.com ; 10252 County Rd 117; d $90-149; ) A stone's throw from
Sunlight Mountain Resort's ski area, this adorable mountain lodge has 20 Western-style
rooms with quilted beds and fireplaces, and guests who congregate by the inviting fire.
Somehow, the hustle of the outside world doesn't make it through the door - there are no
TVs and no cell-phone reception, and when it's blanketed by snow, it achieves a languid
coziness.
