A laid-back spot near the village entrance. Rooms aren't huge but some have fire-
places, king-sized beds, balconies and a view from the upper reaches, and they seem to be
relatively up-to-date. It has a hot tub, fitness center, pool and complimentary breakfast.
One of the better deals in Vail.

The only family run lodging in town, this hotel boasts incredibly personable staff and an
excellent slopeside location, with hot tubs literally at the base of the mountain. While the
room decor is nothing to blog about, all have kitchenettes and exude comfort. Quirky
hotel fact: the owners' son, Buddy, won the Indy 500 in 1996. Kids under 12 stay free.

One of Vail's longest-running properties, the Austria Haus offers both hotel rooms and
condos, so make sure you're clear on what you're signing up for. In the hotel, charming
details such as wood-framed doorways, Berber carpet and marble baths make for a pleas-
ant stay. Fuel up at the generous breakfast spread in the morning.

tower is packed with privately owned one-, two- and three-bedroom condos, but you can
rent studios too (locked-off bedrooms within a condo). Each is decorated in a different
style so your furnishings will always be a surprise, though all multi-bedroom units have
