way get ready to sweat. It's 1.5 miles up to the ridge, where the trail forks: head right
(north) to Mt Royal (10,052ft) for the easy summit.
Otherwise, opt for the tougher workout and turn left (south) to continue up the ridge to
Peak One (12,805ft), which is 3.7 miles from the trailhead. Tenmile Peak (12,933ft) is an-
other 0.6 miles from here, but be prepared for some continuous class 3 scrambling along
the ridge.

Set on Main St is Frisco's best fly-fishing guide and rental outfitter, open
year round, even when the rivers are ice. It takes anglers to the Blue River for three-hour
lessons, five-hour half-day trips and full-day and overnight float trips. It also has evening
casting clinics.

Summit County doesn't have Colorado's best white water, but local outfitters can take you
there (the Arkansas River outside Buena Vista is the most popular destination). Alternat-
ively, trips on the local Blue River and Clear Creek run in June and July only. Children
must be seven or older.

Frisco Nordic Center offers about 25 miles of cross-country ski trails on the Dillon Reser-
voir peninsula east of Frisco. Lessons and rentals are available, as are snowshoes. A
tubing
hill
(10am-6pm; per hr $25)
is also located here and offers a good diversion for kids. The
main parking lot is off Hwy 9 about 1 mile east of Frisco.
