Roosevelt both stayed in Meeker's best hotel, which dates back to 1896. The themed
rooms have Western motifs. Some have been carefully updated, like the Billy the Kid
Room, while others still have a way to go.
There's plenty of elk heads in this hunters' favorite, and the ornate tin ceiling and care-
ful woodwork will delight turn-of-the-century architecture buffs.

Getting There & Away
On the north bank of the White River near the junction of Hwy 13 and Hwy 64, Meeker is
45 miles south of Craig and 42 miles north of Rifle. The Flat Tops Scenic Byway is a
stunning 82-mile drive through the wilderness to Yampa.
