The Yampa River might roll lazily past parts of downtown (great for tubing in the sum-
mer), but this dynamic stretch of water is an ideal venue for water sports. It's particularly
good for kayaks, with a 4-mile Class II to III white-water run that ends in two surfable
holes. Other nearby river runs include the North Platte (Class III), Eagle (Class III), Elk
(Class III) and Colorado (Class II).
